The Political Economy of Vietnam’s Industrial Transformation

Vietnam is undergoing a process of rapid societal and economic transformation as it is moving from a centralized to an increasingly market-based economic model. It is doing so at a very late stage of development when other countries have shown possible ways of progress but have secured first mover advantages in doing so and at a time of global climate change and insecurity. This chapter outlines the structure of the book which examines these issues.
