As many women from the Asia-Pacific region travel abroad to work, there is growing interest in understanding the reasons for this trend, the issues behind it, and the impacts of labour migration on women and their families. The purpose of this paper is to provide a rapid overview of the English-language literature on women's International labour migration in the Asia-Pacific region. It is written for non-specialist readers who wish to familiarise themselves with key issues, trends and policy considerations. In exploring the literature from this perspective, four key areas of research emerge.
