'Embodied audiovisual experience: the role of sound in contemporary screen and digital media' investigates the ways in which sound is involved in multisensory digital experiences. It extends existing sound design theory to address emergent areas of practice, referring to examples across 4D film, VR, and experimental digital art. Examining the interplay of sonic, visual and kinaesthetic experience, the chapter demonstrates how sound plays a key role in the creation of embodied multisensory digital experiences.
