Informal care policy: Needs of older people and people with disability or chronic illness

In this chapter, we first discuss the history of informal care for older people and people with disability or chronic illness. Then we examine the policy architecture of aged care in Australia, then disability care and support services. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the current policy tensions and debates and potential avenues for change.
