posted on 2024-10-30, 21:47 authored by Prabhakar Dwivedi, Kariappa Karumbaiah, Rajarshi DasRajarshi Das
The chapter focuses on the nanoprecipitation method which is used to form polymeric nanoparticles. It describes the various material components, polymers, solvents, and surfactants, used for the nanoprecipitation method. The chapter highlights the effects of major factors, such as the types of materials used and the processing conditions involved in nanoprecipitation on the nature of nanoparticles produced. The chapter elucidates the mechanism of nanoparticle formation and the parameters affecting the size of the nanoparticles. Different manufacturing techniques and post processing methods adopted for nanoprecipitation are elaborated. Finally, the biomedical applications of the nanoprecipitation technique are presented.
