The context in which design studio teaching takes place is in a process of change. Online platforms are challenging both the physical presence of the university and the paradigm of face-to-face teaching by delivering large quantities of high definition data, in the form of lectures and other content, facilitating interaction and discussion between learners and educators through social media. As part of an increasingly competitive multi-trillion dollar industry, the higher education sector is under continual pressure to increase efficiencies in the delivery of course content. This has seen the emergence of new teaching structures. primarily geared towards the mass dissemination of content among students.
