chapter
posted on 2024-10-30, 21:08 authored by Ming Yan, H. Tang, Ma QianMa Qian
This chapter reviews the developments to date in scavenging of oxygen and chlorine from inexpensive titanium powders made from Kroll titanium sponge. These include the various approaches to scavenging oxygen and chlorine, either separately or simultaneously, from powder metallurgy (PM) titanium and titanium alloys during sintering. The ultimate goal is to enable the use of inexpensive titanium powders for the fabrication of low-cost, strong and ductile titanium and titanium alloys by PM routes.
