The increasingly complex and turbulent 21st Century work environment poses various challenges for businesses, threatening their survival and sustainability. From the increasing rates of employee turnover and skills shortages, rapid developments in technology, and changing expectations from a new generational workforce, organisations must recognize the importance of a career resilient workforce. Career resilience provides employees with the capacity to practice adaptation and flexibility when faced with both unexpected and expected career challenges, allowing them to continue effective functioning and successfully deliver outcomes. Organisations must actively plan, develop and deploy initiatives aimed at instilling career resilience amongst their workforce as it is through this strategic play that they can work towards achieving business sustainability and remain competitive in this collaborative economy.
