Health Information Management (HIM) professionals have knowledge and skills in health record management, clinical coding and classification, information management, human resource management, and healthcare processes. HIM professionals take responsible roles in data integrity, information governance, and health informatics, at the same time as they continue to modernise the fundamentals of HIM. This occupation has a range of options that allow people to work within a health-related field while not being on the frontline providing direct care. There are opportunities to work in healthcare, academia, research, health IT, and anywhere that uses health data, across the globe. Case studies from leaders in the field tell stories of personal growth, education, camaraderie, and contributions to health systems that impact lives globally.
