BACKGROUND: Jo Van Den Berghe, Valentina Signore and Johan Verbeke - as a research group at KU Leuven - produced the text 'Learning from a musician, a fashion designer, an architect and a dancer' in 'The ADAPT-r Creativity Book.' It responds to the book's intent to provide first-hand insights by practitioners, with testimonies on the processes, constraints and conditions for creativity. In terms of methodology, it opens up different ways to explore the sub¬ject of Creativity. CONTRIBUTION: The research group chose the interview form as a strategy to dig into the worlds of four creative people: a musician, a fashion designer, an archi¬tect and a dancer. These interviews highlight specific needs and attitudes of these venturous practitioners towards their creativity, beyond differences in discipline, nationality and personality. The reflective text reflects Van Den Berghe's ongoing investigation into the techné and poiesis in making architecture - through drawing, sound and writing - within the context of creative practice research. SIGNIFICANCE: The book is an outcome of the broader ADAPT-r project, which was funded through a 4-million Euro Marie Curie grant to develop an initial training network across a range of design and arts disciplines through the creative practice research model. Van Den Berghe was invited to contribute to the book in his capacity as one of the practitioners pioneering the ADAPT-r method. The concept behind this book reflects the ADAPT-r way of developing research and creative practice simultaneously and inclusively, and to act as a platform for sharing ideas and experiences.
