Philosophie politique radicale du paysage au XXIe siècle et ressources anarchistes (Radical political landscape philosophy of the 21st century and anarchist resources)

BACKGROUND: This article by Alban Mannisi discusses the legacy of nineteenth-century eco-anarchist thinkers at the heart of contemporary political landscape philosophies. Through situations and projects drawn from the cultures and landscape traversed by Alban Mannisi (Singapore, Korea and Japan), the article exposes the resilience and re-emergence of resistance revitalising episteme developed by Joseph Proudhon, Murray Bookchin, or Piotr Kropotkin. This article was a response to the dialogue initiated between Alban Mannisi and a political specialist Phillipe Corcuff about worldwide civil society resistance facing new environmental issues. The article was written and published in French. CONTRIBUTION: The article illustrates cases of conflicts initiated by government and market initiatives and those of social and environmental cohesion maintained by indigenous communities. It is to demonstrate that the social reorganisation and domination of a neoliberal ecology is still today, as it has been since the industrial revolutions of the 19th century, at the source of environmental and community struggles. This article attempts to link Western thoughts of eco-resistance with current Asian practices and the Nagoya Protocol (art. 12) (2012) calling to pay attention to traditional indigenous practices and customs. SIGNIFICANCE: Alban Mannisi was commissioned by Dr. Phillipe Corcuff, Political Specialist and Professor of the Institute of Political Studies of Lyon (France) to contribute to the online publication of grand-angle-libertaire, a network of thinkers and philosophers that publishes analytical texts on libertarianism and associated issues. Texts are reviewed by an editorial board. As an established political figure on resistance movement in Europe, Phillipe Corcuff exposed Mannisi's research in prominent newspaper Mediapart and European activist network-ATTAC.
