The Visions publication marked the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the University of Melbourne Art Gallery. Outside of the National Gallery of Victoria, this is Melbourne's greatest public collection of visual arts. The publication presents a series of essays focussed on major Australian and international examples of fine art and design from the University collection. The other writers are University of Melbourne staff. The essays incorporate fresh material, unquoted primary sources and interpertations of the artworks that offer new insights
