Over the past decade the Textile Design (TD) program at RMIT University has undergone significant change from having no explicit references to sustainability concepts and practices to where sustainability is embedded as an integral element of students' design practice, and a standard part of the program. In 2010, eighteen of the program's twenty-two core courses have learning outcomes which specifically teach and assess sustainability concepts, technical knowledge and practices
