Airborne EM system comparison

conference contribution
posted on 2024-10-31, 15:37 authored by James MacnaeJames Macnae
To compare airborne EM systems, five factors are important. These are the dipole moment, the waveform, the system geometry, the error/noise levels and the system cost/reliability. As well as average values, variations in these parameters are important and Quality Control needed to ensure that systems meet contract specifications. This paper proposes a simple n¿th difference numerical method to estimate normalised noise in the presence of large signals, and thus permit QC to occur inexpensively without the need for high altitude excursion.
