An evolved resources and dynamic capability concept and model

conference contribution
posted on 2024-11-04, 14:09 authored by John Douglas Thomson
Over a hyper-turbulent period, an e-business roadmap was developed in an attempt to make good an e-business vision and to deliver unrealized strategic and operational expectations of a Multi National Enterprise and its Business Units. Using the original e-business roadmap material, a retrospective analysis was undertaken which applied Pavlou and El Sawy's (2011) dynamic capability model to the material to articulate the concept and to make comparisons with the resources based approach. This application has revealed the possibility of improvements and enhancements to the model, which may be of interest to many organizations as they anguish over their ongoing identification and implementation of sustainable resources and new capabilities in response to their turbulent internal and external environments.
