Analytical study of global mobile market: Forecasting and substitution

Mobile phones have become indispensable part of human life. New mobile gadgets have brought competition to the global mobile industry. In this paper a thorough statistical research has been undertaken to examine the future of the Global Mobile Industry that could help consumers make wise decisions and help investors make informative investment in the mobile industry. The research is confined to popular devices only which includes forecast of Global mobile subscriber, market share of different mobile vendors, forecast of top rates operating system of devices and forecast of Desktop web and Mobile web. Monthly data was obtained for time series analysis and the forecasting of Mobile substitution. It is found from the study that Holt's Exponential smoothing method is the best model to forecast the mobile data. It is also found that Mobile's will substitute Desktops in the forthcoming years. The research outcomes provide beneficial insight for the investors and the people who work in the digital market.
