There has been significant growth in biological synthesis of metal nanoparticles. Shape controlled synthesis using a biological route is one of the challenges. Here, we report extracellular synthesis of thin silver nanoplates from a silver resistant bacterium, Morganella psychrotolerans by controlling the growth kinetics of the bacteria and reaction parameters. We observe an increase in the yield of silver nanoplates with decrease in reaction temperature.
