This paper describes the design and fabrication of a C-band (4 - 8 GHz) small CPW fed slotted antenna for realization of a fully integrated SAR system front-end using Gallium Nitride on silicon. The antenna is fabricated on high resistivity silicon (İ r = 11.9) with thickness of 0.4 mm. The CPW feed is designed for 50 ohm with a strip width of 0.4 mm and 0.2 mm ground gap. The overall antenna dimensions are 17.28 mm x 15.12 mm x 0.4 mm. Promising results are obtained from the antenna simulation and measurement. A return loss of 30 dB and a bandwidth of 41% (giving a frequency range of 4.8 GHz to 7.3 GHz) have been achieved. The simulated gain at the resonant frequency 5.1 GHz is 8.7 dBi.
