The main objective of this paper is to examine the key complexities such as intelligent transport infrastructure for the smart cities with the view of seeking ways to effectively manage them to increase efficiency. Accordingly, the paper uses the Sydney infrastructure as an example of the application of a "smart" approach to determine the effectiveness of the approach outlined in this paper. In particular, the Sydney's intelligent traffic monitoring and management procedures will be investigated. Thereby, the significant concerns for the Transportation infrastructure for smart cities such as Intelligent Traffic Management and Integrated Multi-mode Transport; will be explored and scrutinized. Such theoretical analysis would further assist with the overall improvements of Transportation administration (from developing urban areas), while making use of the existing transport network. Appropriately, such administration improvements would further optimize and improve transport amenity specifically for the smart cities.
