Cyberspace offers new possibilities for bullying and harassment, and new legal and social challenges for educational institutions. This paper presents two scenarios of cyberstalking and bullying in an Australian university, ways they were dealt with legally and institutionally, the role of media and pertinent social implications. It considers responsibilities of educational institutions, the effectiveness of available legislation in Australia and New Zealand, and makes recommendations for change to meet this escalating problem.
