This proposal aims to propose a theoretical framework, explore and investigate the determinants of tasks towards value creation of Third Party Logistics (3PL) in Closed Loop Supply Chain (CLSC). CLSC is a term to describe the combination concept of forward and reverse supply chain by which the integration of both channels could yield the company economic performance and environmental concerns. To date, there have been very minimal studies conducted by taking into consideration the value creation from multiple firms including the 3PLs perspectives. It is expected the findings of the study can be used to ascertain specific value adding task in CLSC to be offered by 3PLs to customers. Eventually, 3PLs will be able to offer full package of services in closed-loop supply chain and increase their customer satisfaction and loyalty. On the other hand, manufacturers will be able to focus in producing good quality products at a lower cost as a result of the efficiencies in closed-loop supply chain channel. This study is expected to shift the 3PLs' future sector by shaping a more productive, proactive and prominent role rather than merely assuming existing passive mediator functions in the present business market environment.
