Local residents are considered as key stakeholders to the sustained success of integrated resorts with casino tourism. However, there is lack of consensus regarding to local residents' perceptions and attitudes towards integrated casino reports. Using the context of the emerging market of Vietnam, this study explores local residents' perceptions about Grand Ho Tram Strip, the first ever integrated casino resort in the country. The paper draws from findings from a qualitative study that used in-depth interviews to explore local residents' insights on the integrated casino resort and its impacts on the local area in terms of social, cultural, economic and environmental aspects. The analysis of the findings identifies six main themes with respect to the impacts of integrated resorts with casino tourism. The paper concludes by recommending that a practical understanding of local residents' perceptions towards integrated casino resorts will enable a more effective sustainable tourism development agenda which fits the conditions of the host country.
