Formation of high-filled hybrid composites by centrifugal compaction

Natural composites of high filler content such as nacre, a composite comprised of 95-99 % w/w aragonite layers have been an interest due to its hardness, strength and toughness. The nacre receives its high strength by a slow growth process in which the aragonite tablet become highly oriented and tightly imbedded by the interlamellar organic sheets.
