In this paper, a new radio source localization using array antennas based on fingerprinting techniques in an outdoor environment is presented. By using the fingerprinting technique, the finer the spatial resolution of the database, the more accurate the estimation of the location. Although this method is based on the subspace matching localization technique, a new approach in generating a fingerprint database with a fine spatial resolution is proposed. The performance of the proposed method was verified by an outdoor experiment in which the mobile terminal can be detected accurately in the line-of-sight condition when the spatial sampling interval is 100 m for the measurement to get the signal subspace
