This study aims to explore the felt and lived experience of acute and chronic pain as a catalyst for wearer-centered garment design and it's making. It examines the impact of pain in life disruption as well as two diverse stances to pain management and alleviation: product and design process. These perspectives connect the material and corporeal to develop methodologies that can further inform both product and design. This study contributes to the body of knowledge by bringing to the fore the importance of mixed methodological approaches to fashion and product research and development.
