Quantization effect on sliding-mode control of a second-order dynamical system

This paper addresses the problem of stabilizing a second-order system using a sliding-mode controller by means of state feedback when the measurement of the state is quantized. Some inherent dynamical properties for the quantized SMC systems are studied. The concept of 'step pseudo-sliding-mode' is proposed. Simulations are presented to verify the theoretical results.
