The flux-switching permanent-magnet machines (FSPMMs) are emerging structure stator-PM brushless machines, which offer the advantages of high reliability, high power/torque density, high efficiency and so on. In this paper, a new FSPMM with 12 / 14 poles (stator/rotor) is firstly proposed. For its nonlinear electromagnetic distribution, its electromagnetic traits are discussed and then analyzed by using of co-simulation method in normal and fault states. By plenty of simulations on different fault and relevant tolerant operations, this machine is verified to have strong mechanical robustness and high redundancy capability.
