Bottleneck Bandwidth and Round-trip propagation time (BBR) is a novel TCP congestion control algorithm developed for transport networking. This paper analyses Software Defined Networking (SDN) based wireless access networks that leverage the BBR TCP congestion control algorithm. A comparison of TCP performance over wireless access networks that utilise either conventional CUBIC TCP congestion control or BBR is provided. A SDN-based jitter minimization method for wireless links is proposed to achieve higher data throughput.
