This paper presents a fuzzy self-adapting PI controller in the current loop to modify the speed response of permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) based on the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) technique. By the SVPWM modification, it can improve the utilization of DC voltage and reduce the torque ripple. Meanwhile, the fuzzy self-adapting PI controller can correct the parameters of PI automatically and adaptively when outer parameters are changed. Simulations indicate that the fuzzy self-adapting PI controller has better dynamic performances and greater robustness than that traditional PI controller.
