This paper presents the design of a narrowband absorber for millimeter wave and terahertz applications. The narrowband performance of the absorber is verified through full-wave electromagnetic simulations. The results show 1.25% fractional bandwidth for more than 90% absorption around a center frequency of 0.3 THz at normal incidence. Additionally, the miniaturized elements exhibit a small change in the absorption with respect to the angle of the incident electromagnetic wave. This narrowband absorber can be implemented to suppress multipath signals for a particular band in terahertz communications. It can be also implemented for narrowband terahertz detectors.
