The relationship between IT compatibility and organisational environment performance: a conceptual framework

Organizations are increasingly concerned about the environmental performance including ecological profile, ecological efficiency, and ecological initiative in their operations. This is because the environmental performance can help the organization to meet environmental regulations, improve their profitability, and enhance their competitive position in the market place. IT capability is an organizational ability in effectively and efficiently using their IT resources, which can help organizations for improving their organizational environment performance. It can be determined by IT infrastructure, IT human resources and IT management. This paper develops the conceptual framework of the role of IT capability in improving organizational environmental performance. This is a IT capability conceptualization constitute an original contribution to the information system research in general and the green IT sub research in particular.
