Three-dimensional structural optimization using cellular automata

This paper describes the three-dimensional continuum structural design based on the concept of cellular automata. Cellular automata simulation is performed according to the local rule. The local rule is derived analytically from the objective functions and the constraint conditions. The present method is applied to the deisng of the three-dimensional structures.
