This paper presents continued work on the development of a wireless condition monitoring system for power transformers. Timing between nodes is important for data comparison. Some prominent time synchronisation protocols for sensor networks and the factors affecting timing in wireless data transmission are shown. Time synchronisation using FTSP and reliable data collection have been added to a redesign of a previously developed sensor network for vibration monitoring. The system is evaluated and has been deployed on an isolation transformer.
