2010 UCI Road Cycling World Championships Cultural Programme

The UCI Road Cycling event is of international significance and offered the opportunity to commission a series of artists works as creative catyalysts, engaging with social contexts and the community, who in turn become participants in the creative experience. The project involved the development of 6 temporary public art installation which were aimed at enhancing the visual scope of the event through innovative and surprising works of art. Artists selected in the process were XXXXXXXX These projects were exhibited for the duration of the UCI Road World Championships. The project was developed in partnership with RMIT Design Research Institute, Cultural Value and the City of Greater Geelong. The project bought new knowledge to the area of a major sporting event and the role of art in public space in delivering a particular environment of innovation and creativity to an anticipated audience of the event.
