Research Background The RMIT central library asked me verbally to curate an exhibition, " Grazing the 700's", promoting the Library's collection of art, design, architecture, landscape, photography, fashion, film and other arts practices classified within the 700s in the Dewey Decimal System 700 book collection. Therefore, the works, which were selected from staff and student contributions at all levels of study aimed to locate the importance of academic research in the SOA as it connect with the libraries 700's collection. I was also invited to be part of a staff and alumni based exhibition occurring simultaneously in the library titled "Referencing artists" for which I contributed a painting called "Thug". Research Contribution Although I was asked to and did contribute to the "Referencing Artists" exhibition my main research contribution was the organisation and co-ordination of the "Grazing the 700's" Exhibition. The 700's an important section of the library as it contains research references to art, architecture, communications, ceramics, fashion, film, photography, printing, interior design, landscape architecture, sculpture, silversmithing and encourages a cross pollination from one discipline to another. Research Significance Apart from the success of the exhibitions, there was an official resulting publication called:- "Strange Shelf-Fellows: Works from the 700s Arts Festival."
