Architecture on the wire: Resilience through vitality

journal contribution
posted on 2024-11-01, 13:30 authored by Pia Ednie-Brown
What is clear in Man on Wire is that Petit's WTC wire-walk powerfully amplified something we experience everyday, although mostly unnoticed and wrapped in the habitual, as part of being alive: vitality, or the feeling of life itself. The event was deeply moving because it brought a whispering background movement to the foreground, shifting the ground of experience momentarily, monumentally, and memorably.
