Land management innovation and sustainability in Victoria, Australia—a longitudinal view

This article presents a longitudinal case study addressing innovative change in public sector land management functions in Victoria, Australia. The change factors included New Public Management, global pressures, government innovation and sustainability policies. Departmental level changes created a strong base for innovation and enhanced service delivery improving sustainability outcomes enabling the delivery of precision agriculture. The change facilitated organizational innovation by generating improved delivery fostering sustainability outcomes. The study involved collaboration between practitioners and researchers to promote impactful research and practice.
