Qualitatively different crystal structures for two suspensions of polymer particles with different particle size distributions were reported. Evidence for an intermediate smectic-like structure in the presence of a highly skewed particle size distribution was presented. For the skewed latex, crystallites exhibited only a single Bragg reflection. A schematic model was proposed to explain the observation.
