Between 2002 and 2007, forty two Higher Education Providers were audited by the Australian Universities Quality Agency. These reports provide a wealth of information on current strategy, planning and quality assurance processes activity in Universities. This paper explores the themes of strategy, quality and planning in Australian Universities, providing a snapshot of both current and emerging practices. We also consider the developing sophistication of skills in the areas of strategy, planning and quality in the higher education sector.
