Study on the determination and allocation of the sleeve ease

This paper presents the calculation and allocation scheme of sleeve shrinkage for ladies dress design. Experiments were designed and quantitative analyses were carried out to determine the optimum sewing shrinkage of the sleeve cap.Through the fitting alignment points for both the sleeve and armhole,the shrinkage of various parts of sleeve cap was determined. Sample garments were produced and compared. The results confirmed the proposed practical methods for allocation of the sleeve ease.
