The changes of surface temperature of textiles during movement affect the sensation and comfort of wearer. In this study, the surface temperature of fabric has been tested during the process of moisture liberation by a novel dynamic testing unit under simulated windy conditions. Effects of simulated wind speed, moisture regains and fabric materials on the surface temperature of fabric have eventually been investigated. It has been found that the temperature-runtime curve exhibits a concave shape, indicating different stages of temperature changing during the process. Moisture regain of fabric and the simulated wind speed affect the time of the moisture liberation greatly. Fiber materials of fabric determines the time of the moisture liberation process and the surface temperature during the moisture evaporation stage. Understanding the surface temperature would further benefit the design and application of clothing used in sports conditions in which sweating is greatly involved in the movement.
