Ostensibly, radio is primarily an aural medium, while animation is predominantly visual. However, there have been many nexuses and crossovers between the two. For example, radio has often been visualised in animated films and radio actors have crossed over to become animation voice actors. Animation, more than cinema, is an excellent visual signifier of radio¿s aurally-induced imaginative experiences. And, more recently, vast technological advances and digital convergences are stimulating new and interesting connections between the two media.
