This paper introduces the transmuted Kumaraswamy inverse Weibull distribution by using the quadratic rank transmutation map technique. Various structural properties of the transmuted Kumaraswamy inverse Weibull distribution are discussed. Method of maximum likelihood is used for estimating the model parameters. A breast cancer application is used to compare the transmuted Kumaraswamy inverse Weibull distribution with other four existing lifetime distributions in terms of goodness of fit.
