In this report we present the results of our work validating a postprocessing technique known as 4-dimensionalpositron emission tomography (4D-PET) maximum intensity projection (MIP), which is analogous to 4D-computed tomography- MIP (4D-CT-MIP). We looked at the concordance between freebreathing PET, summed 4D-PET, 4D-PET-MIP, and 4D-CT-MIP volumes. To our knowledge, this is the first study to validate 4D-PETMIP against the standard 4D-CT-MIP in both a phantom and patient data.
