Outside prevalent ‘fashion systems’, lurks other clothing and dress systems. Clothing is re-appropriated to perform alias functions beyond intended use. These items and the bodies that wear them perform acts of smuggling. This article elaborates a collection of found fragments with fictional object biographies about smuggling where clothing acts as a device to conceal and the dressed body is used as a canvas to smuggle. These fragments offer a contemporary dialectic about fashion, revealing the transmogrification of everyday dress and bodies in disguise.
