Shifting Materials: Between Capacity and Affect

This was an exhibition of the temporal situations that emerge from the design process leading to the development of a prototype. The focus of the exhibition was the making process itself. The exhibition comprised a series of models in paper, bamboo, and stainless steel, each of which was made using processes from hand cutting and weaving to laser cutting and welding. Studies in one material informed the next material, and so on, and how that process engendered analysis and feedback into the prototype. In this way, the exhibition was a continual process of researching through materiality and making.
