BACKGROUND: CUSP: Designing into the Next Decade is a major nationally touring exhibition and range of cultural activities curated and managed by Object: The Australian Design Centre. The selection process was rigorous. Hundreds of designer-artists were considered before an eight-member expert curatorial group interviewed a long shortlist of 75 from around Australia. From this process the 12 exhibitors were selected. The first leg of the tour was an exhibiton at Sydney's Casula Powerhouse (6 July-1 September 2013) and 20,000 people visited. CONTRIBUTION: More's installation, 'Temporal Dimensions', presents design work developed since 2009 in his design practice. Based on the metaphors of scales & dimensions, More's project presents data visualisations that examine the role of data in understanding world, country and urban conditions. Custom-designed software presents imagery, movies and realtime data visualisation, presented as a rear projected image and sound installation. The soundscape was designed in collaboration with Marco Cher-Gibard. 'Temporal Dimensions' is live feeding to the internet so new projects can be showcased as they are completed between 2013 - 2015. More explains his work in a short film http://cusp-design.com/designer/greg-more/ SIGNIFICANCE: This touring exhibition has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory board. The Australian Design Centre estimates up to 150,000 people will see it. In a related CUSP activity, on 13 August 2013, More participated in 'Data Makes Me *#$!?' a public forum facilitated by ABC Radio National's By Design presenter Fenella Kernebone (http://cusp-design.com/event/designer-bodies-data-makes-me/). More's inclusion in CUSP and has lead to him being invited to speak at Melbourne's agIdeas 2014 International Design Week in 2014.
