This exhibition, curated by Ass. Prof. Peter Ellis, highlights drawings and works on paper from staff of two of the universities originally involved Drawing of the World, World of Drawing exhibition in South Korea, November 2009. It is signifigant in that the exhibition was an adjunct to the Drawing Out conference, presented by RMIT University and University of the Arts London which sought to extend current knowledge about the state of contemporary drawing in academia. The image presented sought to explore further a major theme in my reseach into the relationship between the comic image and tragedy, as well as the artwork of the Outsider. This image was selected as response to the image in the Korean part of the exhibition in order to test how a different abstract/figuative combine work might be used to exploe how cognitive recognition skills of archytypical images such a face or clown.
