The creative work was selected for public gallery exhibition on the basis of innovation in print practice. As the title of the exhibition outlines, it is an international exhibition with national competitivity. My creative work brings new knowledge to the fine art printing process by applying textile plantdye fixing to printing on paper and is concurrent with recent thinking about image capture in relation to art and science, exemplified by the British Library publication 'Impressions of Nature' by Roderick Cave, 2010. My method adds to this published range of possibilties in the field. One of 3 peer review judges, Jason Smith, Curatorial Manager at Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art was "especially impressed by the rich conceptual and aesthetic range within which the finalists are working" (catalogue ISBN 978-0-9875380-8-6). The 2 other judges were Raymond Arnold and Helen Wright who have national and international standing as practitioners in the field.
