BACKGROUND This work from the 'Journey Series #6', references the in-between moment of what was and what is yet to come. It questions what it is we really need when we are forced to run. There is an immeasurable space between two things as they transition into and between one-another. CONTRIBUTION In the past 10 years, the concept of vessel has had a renewed role and interpretation. This work questions the form, materiality, use and perceived status of what is and can be a vessel. 'Journey Series #6' contributes to the field of ceramic vessels through its innovative use of porcelain, time, and narrative. SIGNIFICANCE Its value is attested to by the following indicators: The Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize is an annual exhibition. Artworks and awards are selected and awarded by a jury. 'Journey Series #6' was selected from over 600 international and national entries for inclusion and was finalist in this international sculpture exhibition held at the Woollahra Council Chambers Double Bay NSW. This exhibition showcases at a national and international level, innovation and current trends in the field of contemporary small sculpture.
